[FiguReview]Bima Action Figure

Premiered on June 30th 2013, Bima Satria Garuda (Bima the Garuda Knight) is Indonesian tokusatsu series created by cooperation of MNC Media and Ishimori Production. According to one of interview by its creator and producer, so far Bima is doing very good with its sold merchandise as well as revenue from ads which as high as shows aired on prime time (Bima airs on Sunday morning). Among the merchandises, which is made by Bandai, one that highly anticipated by adult fans is the action figure since months ago, and few days ago finally the said item is released. Specially for this item, I borrow camera from a relative (Canon EOS-M) just so I can do the usual FiguReview for this figure since my camera is busted and I haven't bought the new one. So, do this figure met the expectation of the fans, read on!

A Talk with Katsuhiro Izumi on AFAID13

Hello everyone! It's really been awhile since my last entry, but worry not since I'm still breathing and pretty much alive, it's just I don't have any worth material for a new entry on this blog. I won't do any other VN summaries anytime soon (planned to do Sena and Rika route for Haganai Portable but my PSP busted) and as for the figure review, I still haven't buy a new camera yet. I have many new figures but without a decent camera, I don't have any motivation to do the usual review. I still take some pictures of those new figures I posted on my Instagram, follow me @bakanki if you're interested.

Anyway, today on this post I'd like to share my conversation with Mr. Katsuhiro Izumi on Bima Satria Garuda booth on Anime Festival Asia Indonesia 13 yesterday. If you don't know yet, Bima Satria Garuda is the first Indonesia tokusatsu hero created by MNC Media with Ishimori Production cooperation. As for who Katsuhiro Izumi is, he is the current Chief Producer/Designer at Bandai HK as well as the toys designer of Bima Satria Garuda series.

Photo Kano - Assorted Events Translation

It's been a month since I wrote a post here and now I'm writing Photo Kano-related stuff yet again. How much of Photo Kano fans am I?

As most of people noticed, the anime are rushing stuffs. They combine both story L and story H parts of each heroine arc on one episode, so of course they had to cut many interesting events from the game, especially from the sub events. Thus, on this entry I want to write some interesting events from the game that the anime cut, with the exception of Kanon route's events which I don't know whether the anime going to adapt or not tomorrow.

Take note that my PSP has broken recently, so I write this based on my memory. Check more of my Photo Kano summaries on this post or this post. Enjoy =D

Photo Kano Love Love Morning

Whaat? Another Photo Kano post? Yep yep, on this post I'd like to share the drama CD that included on the Photo Kano Kiss PSVita game, "Love Love Morning". As you may guess from the title, this drama CD tell each girl (only the 9 heroines, no Narita or Uchida)'s morning the day after the end of the original game, ie. the confession happen.

It's quite nice to know what they think of the new relationship with the MC. My favorite on this one is.... hard to pick only one, but Rina (she hums MC's original love song "Love Love True Love" on her H route, Erina appearance, and Rina's delusion of she and MC feed each other are love) and Mai (can't sleep due to happiness, Mai y u so moe) are my top 2. It's also nice to know how Tomoe and Momoko can still stay at Kouga for one week (Tomoe's family is moving first and Momoko had short job offer on Koga), cheap sure but what the hell, if the setting is that so be it.

Photo Kano - Sanehara Hikari Digest

'Sup guys, been awhile since I last post. My PC got attacked by malware, I got major lag so I only able to do stuff in Safe Mode. Tried many softwares but the problem keeps coming, and I was too lazy to format/reinstall the whole thing since this season there's so many tv series I watch, but fortunately this week many US tv series are finished for now. So if you're waiting for my figure review, hang on there, I have like 3-4 figures I want to do but probably not in short future >.>

Buuu~t, I'm not here for telling my bad luck, but to post for more, yet again, Photo Kano stuff. Have you watched the latest episode of the anime? Yeah it's Sanehara Hikari arc. Unfortunately due to episode quota, we only have 1 episode for her (as well as the rest of heroines) thus it feels rushed. But for me it's more enjoyable than Haruka route that had 2 episodes. I mean Kazuya wasn't wimpy, less drama, and those few last scenes and photo board on Hikari room really make up for the romance even if there weren't proper confession and kiss scene. That's why, for the anime-only viewer Photo Kano fans out there, I want to spread more Hikari love with these information about her, as well as my two favorite scenes of her route from the game that unfortunately didn't make it on the anime. Hope you enjoy it :)

!!!This post contains spoiler of other girl route so read at your own risk!!!

Photo Kano - All Route Summary

To commemorate the 50,000 views, I want to do another game summary since the summary segment of my blog is one that contributes the most to the numbers of view (though I don't monetize my blog so pageview doesn't really mean anything, haha). So I decides to write short (and I really mean it, don’t expect dialogues translation like I usually did) summary of all routes from the original Photo Kano PSP game. I know that the anime is (very?) disappointing so far for most people, but I still love the series. And in the spirit of the soon-to-be-released Photo Kano Kiss sequel for PSVita, I want to spread the Photo Kano love.

Note that the 6 main heroines on this game have 2 story depending the club you choose. Join the Photo Club you’ll get the Story L(ove) which has more drama approach while if you choose to join Sasshin/Photography Club you’ll go to Story H(appy) which has comedy approach, both has the same basic premise though. So here’s the summary!

And of course spoiler alert. Oh yeah, I wrote this mostly based on my memory, and my memory wasn’t that good so I may screw some parts here and there, mostly Nonoka since I've only played it once, but I think I get 80-90% stuffs right. Was too lazy to replay, or even to see the event gallery for all route one by one, haha. Okay here comes the wall of text summary, happy reading :3

[FiguReview]Composite Ver.Ka - Fei-Yen HD

Do you like cross-over? I freaking love it, that's why I love Super Robot Taisen/Wars (SRW) game series. And on one of the latest SRW, SRW UX for 3DS, there's this unique mecha series that's also a product of cross-over, Fei-Yen HD! Fan of Virtual-On series will know Fei-Yen, and what's the HD stands for? It's "Heart of Diva", and which diva it refers to? The virtual diva Hatsune Miku, of course! So yeah, after Fei-Yen module for Miku on Project Diva Extended PSP game, Vocaloid and Virtual-On make another crossover with Fei-Yen HD,  which based on Katoki Hajime's design for Newtype magazine and later turned into an action figure, which I'll review now :3

[FiguReview]Composite Ver.Ka - Temjin

Remember a classic high speed mecha battle arcade game named Virtual On? I still remember, even though I sucked big time back then since I've played it during my elementary-middle school times, it was the first time I feel really control the mecha with the twin stick controller ala one in real mecha so it was awesome experience. And then 2 years ago, to celebrate the 15 anniversary of the series, Bandai collaborates with Sega and the original mecha designer of Virtual On, Katoki Hajime, release the poster mecha of the series, MBV-04 "Temjin" on Composite Ver. Ka line. If you still haven't bought the figure and want to know more about it, read this review out...while listening to this song. Get Ready?

[FiguReview]Assorted Figures April 2013

Okay so I'm finally back with new review, and since I was too lazy to make individual review for each figures, I'll mashing things like I did occasionally. So most of these figures below are those I bought during my time on Singapore, with exception of the first one which happened to arrive on my home the moment I arrive after my vacation. Well then, let's get to the figures, shall we :3

Vacation to Singapore!!

Last (long) weekend, I along with my mother and her two colleagues from work went to Singapore for vacation. At first I don't really want to go but decided going to anyway in the end. We flew there on Wednesday evening, and so we went straight to the bed after we checked in at the apartment we lived there. The next day, I had to accompany my mother and her friends to Universal Studios. I'm not really that excited since I'm more Disney fan (Stitch!!!), but since they paid for the ticket and lunch, I had nothing to lose XD There though, I had to follow them all the way and take their pictures so I couldn't go on my own. Bought some merchandises like Shrek's headband, but the thing I really like the most is when I order my own caricature XD

The next day is free day for me since anyone wanted to go show on their own, and I already made appointment with two friends who live there. We promised to meet up in Bugis MRT Station and after that we went to The Falcon's Hangar nearby, which was......

100th Post, and Good Bye Multiply

It's almost 8 months since I started to blog here on Blogspot, leaving my old blog at Multiply which at that time was already announced to be closed starting December, but then Multiply staffs left it be for almost 4 months and then days ago, they closed the site for good, leaving it only for market place for Indonesia and Phillipines. And now, even though the moment isn't exactly right, but as the 100th post, let's review the content of my blog here so far.

[FiguReview]SHFiguarts Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style

So yeah, as promised here's the review of titular character of the latest Kamen Rider series, Wizard on his Flame Style. If there's any figure I need to have for the sake of completion, it will be the SHFiguarts of main Rider of new Heisei era on its main/normal form. Even after hearing of its annoying flaw I still feel obligated to buy this, and ironically I'm not that passionate of tokusatsu anymore since nowadays I only watch Kamen Rider (starting this April, then new Akibaranger and Garo will be on my list though) but I still not feel anything, again it's kinda like obligation. But I'm here to review the figure not talking about my rant, so here's the review, it's showtime~!!

[FiguReview]Assorted Figures March 2013 pt I

Been awhile since my last review. Yeah, kinda tight on budget and still seriously losing my mood to do photo session and write review. But it's all past now, I'm back with another amateur review~!! I initially wanted to post this on my birthday 2 days ago but I couldn't, so here it is, some figures I got that it's going to consume too much spaces if I do it individually. Read on =3

I'm Alive!!!

Almost a month since my last post, and I just want to let whoever read this that I'm still alive, haha. Real life stuff isn't really holding me back to make time to post something, but it just I don't have mood to do photo session of my new figures and write review. I still have two sets of Kamen Rider Fourze and Wizard candy toys and SHFiguarts Shinken Red waiting me to unbox them, and then another Wizard candy toy and SHFiguarts Wizard Flame Style will come soon on my posession, but I don't know when I'll be in mood to do my stuffs, haha. Other than that, look what I have here X333

[FiguReview]Figma Nyarlko

Japanese has this super power to turn anything cute. They could make their war generals from Sengoku period or even their Gods cute, so it's not surprising when they can turn the super scary, malign deity from Cthulhu Myth, the Crawling Chaos Nyarlathotep, into a cute girl and alter the background completely and thus, born Nyaruko of "Haiyore! Nyaruko-san". After the success of the first season of the anime, Nyaruko comes in action figure in the form of figma and I'm here to review it, let's nya~!!

Photo Kano Anime's Character Design

Wanted to give a space between my posts once in awhile so it's not all figures and figures, and the time was just perfect. The official TBS site for Photo Kano anime just made an update hours ago with new Niimi Haruka's picture giving Valentine's gift like above to celebrate the day (you can download the image here), new staff comment, an event schedule for March 17th which based on the name I think it's going to announce which route the anime will take between Photo Club or Photography Club, and more importantly the confirmation of the sub-characters with all their respective original seiyuus from the original game. And we also get the character design for all the characters, here they are~!!

Valentine's Gift

On where I live, it's almost late but for someone on other side of the world it's maybe not even the day yet, or maybe you're not even celebrate it, but anyway here's your Valentine's gift in form of photo set from me, enjoy and happy Valentine's Day! Make peace, laughter, and love <3

Nyarlkooo, Henshin!

"Haiyore! Nyarlko-san!" is filled with many anime and tokusatsu references, including the popular Mr. Karate Bugmen aka Kamen Rider, even most of the light novel cover arts are parody of Rider's signature pose. So, as a man who like to posing his figures, I tried to figure-ized the idea, making my Figma Nyarlko to do all main Kamen Riders, from Showa to new Heisei period, signature pose =3

[FiguReview]Figma Yuki Nagato Evil Witch Ver.

How are the chances an event exclusive figure is re-released as regular release? Not that many, at least nowadays. Usually even that figure is released, it's going to be as another exclusive but easier in form of web order exclusive. But this Yuki Nagato Evil Witch version is one of the rare case. Back then this figure can be bought early on Wonder Festival 2008 but then is released regularly, though the price tag nowadays are quite expensive for a Figma. Just in case you still want to get it but not that convinced yet, I'll help you with this review of mine.

[FiguReview]Nendoroid Hakase

One of my favorite genre is comedy, including on the anime. The first time I heard about "Nichijou" anime I'm not really interested though, but when episode 1 just aired and someone post screencap of one of the character saying "Selamat pagi" and "Selamat malam" literally in Bahasa Indonesia, I know I have to watch this anime, ahaha. My favorite characters are the adorable Hakase and Sakamoto-san, and luckily for me GSC is releasing those two on Nendoroid line!

Moe Heroes wa Kizutsukanai

Week ago, I was bored and had time to think what to do next with my figure. With no idea for neither comic or 4koma, I thought of something else. Doing heroic pose on figures are very common, and I did many romantic/couple-themed pictures like Fourze & Nadeshiko one. By that time I was just finished replaying Photo Kano to write some summaries, and that got me thinking, 'why I didn't do some moe/girly pictures, but with the hero characters". And so with help from some covers of Photo Kano Your Eyes Only and Cure Peace's signature pose as references, I did 9 moe heroes pictures with SHFiguarts and Ultra-Act. It's actually harder to reenact these moe/girly/photomodel-ish pose compared to heroic pose due to limitation of the joints articulation.

Ore no Imouto Maker EX - Ayase Lesson Summary

Figure review, game summary, figure review, game summary, and so on. I didn't plan it this way but it's the pattern for my posts lately. And today I'm doing another summary, a.... spin-off of Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai, this game is a bonus game included on the special edition of the first OreImo Portable PSP game, the complete titel is Ore no Imouto Maker EX: Imouto to Koi Shiyou! Portable. Phew, that's a long one.

Unlike the main game and its sequel, this bonus game is not really a visual novel, but more a love simulation, of course with a story for each heroine even though the basic premise is kinda absurd, where all the 5 available girls are now becomes Kyousuke's little sisters! Gameplay using slot system, where you pick one of the five girls, and then decide what activity you'll do with her, the extra partner, and the affection level, all are based on slot system. Depending on the activity and partner(s) chosen, you'll get a mini event which if you get too often the event will be skipped. This game has deadline and the ending you'll get will depends on which girl closest to you and her affection level. For a bonus game, it's quite nice even though it gets boring quickly because of the slot system, just don't expect good story like on the first main game or many lovey-dovey moments like on the sequel.

The truth is I've written this summary couple of years ago on Figure.fm but I figured I want to rewrite it again, since back then my writing is really suck (now it's just 'suck' XP) since it's very short compared to other reviews while I have extra time, and of course because this is Ayase! Gotta spread the love since we'll see more of her on the upcoming season 2 of the anime (I wish they will cover the story to the latest LN since Ayase's role becomes more active XP)

[FiguReview]Warung Nasi Ibu Ida

Even if it's a "FiguReview" segment, but the.... item I'm reviewing isn't really a figure, it's more a miniature or diorama. Remember some food miniatures I reviewed weeks ago? These items are made from the same shop, Little Things. I've been wanted to buy this set for couple of months so when I got some extra cash I bought it.

Photo Kano - Ootani Momoko Route Summary

I'm back with full summary of another heroine's route from love simulation PSP game, Photo Kano. This time, it's also another secret heroine, in fact she is the last unlockable heroine on the game. If the other heroine is a student, Ootani Momoko here is a teacher!

Yes, Ootani Momoko is an intern teacher to be exact. She just starts teaching on the new semester when the MC starts bringing camera his father gave him to the school. Due to the nature of the plot, her route feels more special than other heroines, one of the reason I really like her route, other than Aya Endo's flirty adult voice. There's also a manga adaptation of her route, Photo Kano Memorial Pictures that serialized on Comic Earth Star magazine, and the first volume of the tankoubon has been released months ago. You can read the first chapter on the official web site.

Even though at this point I don't know if her route will be adapted on the upcoming anime (release a new PV or CM already, damn it!!), but both Momoko and Aya Endo are confirmed on the cast list, so I have to warn you this summary will contain spoilers.

Last thing, just like Tomoe route, Momoko route only have one story doesn't matter which club you choose for the MC, but on my playthrough here, I joined the Photography Club. I will also use the default name for the MC, Maeda Kazuya, but since I'm using my real name on my game, the pictures here will have my name on it, lol.

This is the longest summary I ever wrote, because I really enjoy her route so I put some sub events and after-school date events too. You might want to grab some snack and drink because it's going to be long read. Enjoy reading~

[FiguReview]Super Robot Chogokin - Aquarion EVOL

OSORE!! Blogging your figure don't give up now keep reviewing on, kimi wo dakishimeru nandomo nandomo nandomoooo~!!!

'Sup guys, this time I'm writing a review of one of the latest mecha figure line from Bandai, Super Robot Chogokin. This line best-selling point is its poseability and articulation along with the heavy feel thanks to die-cast material used and the playability with effect part or weapon set. Although most don't have transforming or combining gimmick and has smaller scale compared to the Soul of Chogokin line, it still has great quality and comes with cheaper price.

And the one I'm reviewing is Aquarion EVOL, the titular mecha from the sequel of Sousei no Aquarion, Aquarion EVOL. Without further BS, here goes the review. Sousei review, go Aquarioooooo~n!!!

Photo Kano - Misumi Tomoe Route Summary

Hi guys, today I'm doing another summary from game. Not OreImo anymore, I'm doing Photo Kano now. You probably know that I love this series, so I want to share the love to everyone since the anime will air about 3 months from now.

The route I'm doing now is Misumi Tomoe. She is the first of 3 hidden characters on the game. A quiet, introverted girl who hate to stands out and thinking she's just a plain girl. If you read the translation of Photo Kano Sweet Snap by Pretty Anon, on one of the April Extras there is one chapter that focusing on her.

I must say based on her looks and brief personality summary, she's not my type of 2D girl, but after I play her route, the story was great and it involved more about camera compared to most of other girls's route, put the "photo" on Photo Kano. I should warn you this will contains spoiler for the anime, even though I don't know if the anime will cover her route but both Tomoe and her seiyuu are already confirmed for the anime.

Now I will only cover the main events (with 3 after-school date events), since Photo Kano is not a visual novel but love simulation, there are many sub-events and dialogues during the talk segments which too much for me to cover, thus maybe the relationship development on my summary will feel too fast and unnatural.  Luckily, unlike the 6 original heroines, Tomoe only has 1 story doesn't matter the club you choose, but on this summary I choose Photo Club. Oh, and the MC name can be changed to anything, but on my summary I'll use the default name, Kazuya Maeda, even though on the screen cap pictures I use here the name changed to "Anki" because I use my own name on my game, so bear with it XP

Well then, that's about it for the introduction, enjoy the summary =D

[FiguReview]Aquarion EVOL DXF Figure - Mikono Suzushiro

Despite many people said she's indecisive and useless, there's something that make me like Mikono quite much, better than Zessica. Funny since usually I like 2D girls whom are assertive, energetic, flirty like Zess (not to mention HanaKana's voice) but Mikono still cuter and better in my eyes. Oh well, here I'm not talking about the character, but to review the prize figure of the main heroine of Aquarion EVOL, Mikono Suzushiro. MIKONO-SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

Photo Kano Your Eyes Only SP 03

Not a figure review, today I'd like to post about Photo Kano, after quite time. Yeah, I sure like this series, don't I? The one I'm going to post about is one of its manga adaptation, its title is the same as the title of this entry. If you have read my previous entry about many manga adaptations Photo Kano has or read the manga itself you probably know, but in case you don't, Your Eyes Only SP is omnibus format manga, as far I'm concerned, that drawn by Nylon. So far, 3 chapters have been released on Young Animal Island, comic magazine that released every 3 (or was it 4) months.

The one thing that make chapter 3 special is it's not focused to Yunoki Rina as the previous 2 chapters (if you don't understand moon runes, you can read the first chapter translated by roankun here), but it's focused to Kanon, the little sister of the MC. And more importantly, as far as I know, the story is original, not taken from the original PSP game, making me want to share the story. Since no one's doing this manga, I figure I'll try write a summary of it, even though the lack of furigana on this one makes me insecure if I get things right.

I have to warn you though that this entry will include plot spoiler from the original game, so don't tell me I didn't warn you.

Farewell 2012

Well I'm an action figure collector, so let's make this New Year post still figure related. Days ago friend on Whatsapp came up with talking about his loots through out 2012. But by then I was still on work so I couldn't participate, and now I'm actually at home, I don't have the motivation to rearrange all the boxes to take picture, so I just do this.

Sorting the list on MyFigureCollection and then add items that MFC didn't have. Thanks to those trading figures and LEGO Minifigures, the number became around 90! Damn I need to have self control, don't I? XD

It's probably impossible to completely stop, but to try to spend and buy less, I think I can do it, though I'm not really put it on my resolution list, lol. This is my main hobby for more than 8 years old now, after all. And the reason I can't stop is it's too much fun to take (silly) pictures and share it to other, and reading comment when people enjoy my work is the most delicious icing on the cake. Though I do have to learn more about photography since I still have waaaay to go (lighting, you're a bitch D:).

Well anyway, to all of the readers, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!!! Hoping 2013 will be better year despite the unlucky "13" things (we don't have to call it 2012A, right?). Thanks for reading this blog up till now, and look forward to my future posts. See you~
